A right-hand pitcher from Langley and a Junior, Brandon had 13 starts in 2010. He pitched a complete-game shutout against Concordia-Portland on April 11. His record was 7-3, 3.42 ERA, with 51 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings pitched.
Brandon
is a transfer from Douglas College, where he was good enough to be
drafted by the Blue Jays in the 45th round of the 2009 MLB
draft. He played for Team Canada during the Summers of 2008 (World
University Games) and 2009 (World Baseball Challenge). He played for
the Okotoks Dawgs of the WMBL during the Summer of 2009, and pitched
6 2/3 scoreless innings during the playoffs. He is the half-brother of Blue Jays pitcher Scott Richmond.

A left-hand pitcher, Sheldon had 12 starts and two relief appearances for the Thunderbirds in 2010. His record was 9-2, 2.94 ERA, with 65 strikeouts.
Sheldon
transferred to UBC after pitching for two years for Division I
Northeastern University in Boston. His record for 2008 was 9-2, 2.86
ERA, and 72 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings pitched. He was named to the
Colonial Conference All-Conference team as a reliever. He played for
Team Canada during the Summers of 2008 (World University Games) and
2009 (World Baseball Challenge). He played for the Junior National
Team earlier. He also played for the Edmonton Prospects of the WMBL
during the Summer of 2009, and had a record of 1-0, 1.37 ERA, and 23
strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings pitched.

An RHP from Tsawassen,Shawn's numbers for 2010 were 1-2, 3.33 ERA, seven saves (most for the team), and 19 strikeouts in 18 appearances.
Shawn made 25 relief appearances for the Thunderbirds in 2009, and led the team with ten saves. In 37 2/3 innings, he struck out 24, and allowed 34 hits. His won-lost was 1-3, and his ERA is 2.87.
Shawn is a transfer from the University of Calgary, which competes in the CCBC with Thompson Rivers and Kwantlen. He was the ace of the Dinos' pitching staff for two years, and had a record of 5-3 in 2008.
He has also played for the White Rock Tritons, and played for the Burnaby Collegiate Bulldogs during the Summers of 2008 and 2009. He pitched for Team Canada at the World Baseball Challenge in 2009, |

A Senior outfielder from Langley. In his senior season, he led the team with a .373 batting average and 18 doubles. His seven home runs tied him with Blake Carruthers for most for the team. He also had three triples. He was used mostly as a designated hitter in 2010.
Nic hit .288, with six doubles, a home run, and 24 RBI in 2009.
Nic hit .253 with a home run and 10 RBI in an injury-shortened 2008 season.
He led the team in hitting in 2007, with an average of .340. He had 14 doubles (also best on the team), two home runs, and 22 RBI.
He played for Team Canada at the 2009 World Baseball Challenge, batted .304, and drew six walks. |

Alex is a Senior from Richmond. In his final season, he batted .300, with one home run and 27 RBI, scored 40 runs.
In 2009, he batted .299, with a home run and 24 RBI. He drew 22 walks, and fielded .983. He received NAIA West Rawlings Gold Glove awards for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
He hit .290 with 22 RBI and fielded .968 in 2008. He played for Canada in the World University Games in Brno during the summer of 2008, and hit .389. He also played for Canada at the World Baseball Challenge in 2009. |

Eric is a Junior RHP from Thunder Bay, ON. In 2010, his record was 7-2, 3.92 ERA, with 53 strikeouts.
He had a breakout year in 2009. He had a record of 4-2. 2.95 ERA, and 45 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched. He had an especially good start vs. College of Idaho in the NAIA West tournament; he went eight innings, scattered seven hits, and struck out seven.
He had ten starts in 2008. His record was 5-1, 4.42 ERA, 28 strikeouts. He put in a very good performance in the Region I tournament against Concordia-Portland; four hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Eric made two appearances for Canada at the World Baseball Challenge in 2009. He went a total of six innings, and did not allow an earned run. He spent the rest of the summer of 2009 with the Medicine Hat Mavericks of the WMBL, and got a respectable 48 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings pitched.

An RHP from Nanaimo, Taylor led the Thunderbirds with 78 innings pitched in 2009. His record was 7-2, 3.23 ERA, and 53 strikeouts. He won the Rawlings Gold Glove for pitchers for NAIA West.
Taylor came to UBC from Pierce College in the Los Angeles area. His college career started at Cal State-Northridge, but he ran into arm trouble followed by surgery. He had two starts in the series against the French Senior National Team in 2007, and pitched six scoreless innings in the first one.
His 2008 season ended, after only two starts, with an injury. His numbers were 1-1, 5.25 ERA.
He pitched seven innings for Team Canada at the 2009 World Baseball Challenge, got a win, recorded nine strikeouts, and had an ERA of 1.29. |

Mike, from North Delta, is a Junior. He was a regular starter in right field in 2009. He batted .258, with four home runs and 34 RBI. One of the home runs was the first ever hit out of Thunderbird Park, on March 13, 2009. He drew a team-best 29 walks.
As a freshman in 2008, Mike hit .283, with 7 RBI. |

Greg is a Sophomore from Toronto. He has been the regular catcher from the Thunderbirds in 2010. As of April 26, he is hitting .238, with 11 RBI. He has thrown out seven baserunners attempting to steal, has been charged with only one passed ball, and is fielding .995.
He played in 15 games in 2009, started in ten of them. He batted .222, fielded 1.000, and caught three baserunners attempting to steal. Greg was in the Academic Programme for Gifted Athletes at Northview Heights Secondary School. He was Captain and MVP of the Northview Heights baseball team. He played for the Canadian Junior National Team in 2007 and 2008, and for the Toronto Mets 2006-2008. He batted .387, with two home runs, for the Mets in 2008. He also played for the Ontario Youth Team in 2007, and was MVP in the Canada Cup. He was also named to the Toronto Star’s Annual High School All Star Team.
Greg also played Varsity ice hockey and golf, and was the MVP for the Northview Heights ice hockey team, as well as the Captain. |

Keaton has become the starting third baseman for the Thunderbirds as a true Freshman, and as of April 15, leads the team in hitting with a .395 average.
Keaton is from North Vancouver. He
played for Team BC at the 2009 Canada Games, and batted .533 for the
tournament. He also played for the North Shore Twins, batted .298
with 27 RBI, and drew 33 walks. He was named to the Premier League's
all-conference team.

Blake has played in every game this season for the Thunderbirds, and has started all but one of them in center field. As of March 16, he leads the team with six home runs. He is batting .361, and has 30 RBI. He is fielding 1.000.
Blake is from Calgary. He attended Central Washington in 2009, but was red-shirted, and is a Freshman for eligibility purposes. He was "discovered" by the Thunderbird coaches at the World Baseball Challenge, where he was playing for the Prince George Axemen.

Andrew is a Freshman from London, ON. He has been platooning at first base with Bob Foerster, and has occasionally played third base. As of May 5, he is batting .342 (fourth-best on the team), has three home runs and 23 RBI. He is fielding .972.
Andrew
played for the London Badgers, who won the Baseball Canada Midget
Championship, and for Team Ontario at the Canada Games. He batted
.324 with 41 RBI, 18 walks and 12 stolen bases for the Badgers, and
he was their offensive and defensive player of the year. At the
Canada Games, he batted .500 with two doubles, a home run, and six
RBI. He played volleyball,
basketball, and ice hockey for Oakridge Secondary School, and was a
Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association all-star in ice hockey.

Mitch is a Senior from Edmonton, AB. He was the usual designated hitter during the 2009 season. He batted .283, with two home runs, and eight RBI. One of the home runs was a big one; it provided the winning run against Biola in the sectional tournament. He also received a Daktronic-NAIA scholar athlete recognition.
He batted 1.000 in 2008; he hit a double in his only turn at bat. |

A Sophomre RHP from Ladysmith, BC. In 2009, he was 5-2, 3.47 ERA, with 35 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings pitched. He walked only ten batters.
Dan played for the Canadian Junior National Team and the Nanaimo Pirates in 2008. His numbers for the Pirates are 4-3 W-L, 2.20 ERA, 63 strikeouts and only seven walks in 51 innings pitched. He was one of the most dominant pitchers in the BC Premier League.
He also played for the BC Scout Team in 2008. in 2007, he pitched for the BC team at the Canada Cup, and pitched seven shutout innings (two hits, 11 strikeouts) in the semifinal.
Dan had an excellent summer with the Okotoks Dawgs of the WMBL in 2009. He had a record of 3-0, 1.08 ERA, and 30 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings pitched. He also played for Team Canada at the 2009 World Baseball Challenge, pitched 11 innings (two starts), struck out eight. |

Bob Foerster is a transfer from Kwantlen College, and played first and third base during the 2009 season. He batted .257, hit one home run, and 20 RBI.
He played third base, hit .198 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI during the 2008 season. He played for the Kelowna Falcons during the summer of 2008. He is also an alumnus of the Langley Blaze. |
