First game (nine innings): Eric Brown got his first loss of the season, was lit up for eight runs. The Thunderbirds led 3-2 after 2 1/2 innings on a two-RBI single by 2B Alex White and an RBI single by SS Sammie Starr, but it was all Coyotes for the next four innings.

C Greg Densem hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning.

Ben Rosen got the win for the Coyotes, running his record to 9-2. He went six innings, allowed four runs on four hits, struck out six.

Box score and play-by-play

Second game (seven innings): The Thunderbirds led this one at the half-way point 6-1. The Coyotes got four runs in the bottom of the fourth to close to 6-5, then scored five runs (all charged to reliever Danny Britton-Foster, only two of them earned) in the fifth inning to win it.

DH Nic Lendvoy hit a two-run home run, and 3B Andrew Firth hit a solo home run.

Chad Yeggy got the win in relief.
