First game (9 innings): Another good start by Eric Brown; seven innings, eight hits, two earned runs, and seven strikeouts. 2B Alex White was 4-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Thunderbirds opened the scoring in the second inning when DH Nic Lendvoy scored on a pair of errors. They added two more runs in the third inning on RBI singles by White and Lendvoy. In the fifth, they got runs on a sacrifice fly by 1B Scott Webster, a squeeze bunt by C Ben Torrie, and the winning run on an RBI single by 3B Bob Foerster. They added five more runs in the sixth to take an 11-1 lead.

Lendvoy was 3-4 with an RBI for the game, and Foerster was 3-5 with two RBI. Matt Bannister pitched the last two innings, allowed two runs on three hits, walked two, and struck out two.

Quinn MacNab got the loss for the Warriors. SS Trevor Winsor went 3-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Second game (7 innings): 1B Scott Webster was 3-4 with an RBI. Josh Brink, Danny Britton-Foster, and Shawn Hetherington combined for the shutout.

The Thunderbirds got all the runs they needed in the first inning. The winning run came on an RBI single by DH Nic Lendvoy. C Ben Torrie drew a walk to bring in a run, and 3B Bob Foerster hit a two-RBI single. The Birds added two in the second, and completed the scoring with three in the fourth.

The Warriors got a baserunner as far as third in the second inning with Brink on the mound, but a Foerster-to-Webster double play ended the inning. They loaded the bases on Britton-Foster in the fifth inning with one out, but two ground balls resulted in force outs at the plate and at second.

Brink allowed one hit in two innings. Britton-Foster, who got the win, allowed four hits in three innings, struck out two. Hetherington faced only seven batters, allowed no hits, walked one, and struck out two. RB Mike Elias went 2-3, Foerster was 2-4 with three RBI.

Trevor Winsor started and got the loss for the Warriors. He and Nate Hiebert traded the mound for second base after four innings, and Hiebert held the Birds scoreless. SS Craig Spicer, playing his last home game for the Warriors, got two of their five hits.

The Thunderbirds have clinched first place in the North division of NAIA West, and will host the NAIA West tournament May 4-6. The other teams in the tournament will be Oregon Tech, College of Idaho, and (probably) Cal State San Marcos.
