First game: Mark Hardy pitched his third straight complete seven-inning game, and his second shutout of the season. He allowed only three hits, and struck out seven.

The winning run came in the second inning, on an RBI double by Mike Styrna. Styrna was 2-2, and Ryan Pilgrim was 2-3.

Derek Jacobsen pitched a complete game for the Hustlin' Owls, held the Birds to six hits.

Second game: Sammie Starr was 3-5, and Mike Styrna hit a two-RBI double in the first inning to get it going. Jon Syrnyk was 2-3 with two RBI, the first of which was the winning run. Matt Chester got an RBI on a fielder's choice, and made the defensive play of the game in the seventh inning in left field, robbing CF Trenton Smith of a base hit with a great catch of a line drive. Josh Brink got the start, and gave way to Greg Chong after walking a couple of batters in the fifth. Chong came in with the bases loaded and a run in; he gave up a run on a sacrifice fly by Smith, but got the Birds out of the inning with no further damage.

Chong went 1 2/3 innings, allowed one hit, and got the win. However, the best pitching performance of the game was by Kurtis Schumacher, who retired all five batters he faced. Ashton Florko and Andrew LaFleur also saw action. Casey Burton got the loss for the Hustlin' Owls.
