Wednesday - Concordia-Portland 2, UBC 1: The Thunderbirds got a complete game from Sean Callegari. He allowed two runs in the first two innings (one of them walked in), but finished with six hits and nine strikeouts. However, the Birds managed only seven hits off Jason Snodgrass, and the only run came on an RBI single by DH Greg Densem in the sixth inning. The Birds left the bases loaded at the end of that inning, and they left LF Mike Hole on third at the end of the second inning. Box score and play-by-play

The Cavaliers won a 15-inning game earlier in the day. The other game also went extra innings; defending champion Menlo defeated Corban 11-5 in 12 innings.
Thursday - UBC 6, Corban 1: Alex Graham pitched six shutout innings, scattered six hits and five walks. The Birds scored all of their runs in the third inning; 2B Andrew Firth hit an RBI single, LF Mike Hole hit a two-RBI double, 1B Jeremy Kral got an RBI on a ground out, DH Austin Fruson hit an RBI double, and CF James Stewart hit an RBI single. Menlo 6, UBC 0: James Jensen pitched a complete-game shutout for the Oaks, held the Birds to seven hits, didn't walk a batter, struck out five. Friday - UBC 16, Lewis-Clark State 1: RF Jerod Bartnik, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter, hit two home runs, batted in five runs. C Brody Hawkins went 5-for-6 with two doubles, three RBI. The Thunderbirds had a shutout going into the eighth inning; Sean Callegari went seven innings, allowed four hits, struck out six, didn't walk a batter. Alex Webb went the rest of the way, allowed the sole run on two hits, struck out one. The 23 hits for the Thunderbirds was an L-C State record for hits by an opposing team. Box score and play-by-play
Lewis-Clark State 12, UBC 2: The Birds were done in by a six runs in the third inning, led by a two-RBI single by DH Kyle Blackwell and a two-RBI double by 3B Jacob Cano. Both of the Birds' runs came in the second inning, on an RBI bunt single by CF K.P. Hlatky and a bases-loaded walk by SS Tyson Popoff. Alex Graham got the loss. C Greg Densem went 3-for-4. Saturday - UBC 4, Lewis-Clark State 3: The Birds scored all their runs in the fourth inning; a three-RBI double by SS Tyson Popoff, and an RBI single by 1B Jeremy Kral. The Warriors out-hit the Birds 12-6, but they left 13 runners on base, and left the bases loaded three times, including the bottom of the ninth. Bryan Pawlina got the win, went five innings, allowed one run on six hits, struck out three. (Pawlina's record is now 9-0.) Miles Verweel and Conor Lillis-White each pitched two innings of relief.
